Mahi Binebine
Born in Marrakech in 1959, Mahi Binebine is a Moroccan painter, sculptor and writer. He moved to Paris in 1980 to study mathematics and taught the subject for eight years before devoting himself fully to visual art and literature. His work has entered major collections, including the Guggenheim.
After returning to Morocco, Binebine co-founded the Ali Zaoua Foundation, which supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through artistic practice. He also contributed to the creation of the Marrakech African Book Festival in 2022. His career connects visual art, fiction, social engagement and cultural infrastructure.
