A new cultural facility in Béni Makada

The Béni Makada Public Cultural Centre expands neighbourhood access to culture in one of Tangier’s most populated districts. Opened in July 2026, it was designed as a meeting, training and performance venue for residents, artists and community organisations.

Covering approximately 4,300 square metres, the building combines Moroccan architectural references with spaces for contemporary cultural practice.

Performance, reading and artistic learning

The centre includes an auditorium of around 300 seats, adult and children’s libraries, a multimedia room and an exhibition area. It also houses a music and choreography conservatory, a dance room and a recording studio.

These facilities support concerts, theatre, literary meetings, workshops, exhibitions and arts education.

A neighbourhood cultural anchor

The centre encourages local creation and gives young people access to arts, reading and cultural production. Browse events in Tangier and cultural places in the city.
