Es-Semara’s principal public cultural centre

The Cheikh Sidi Ahmed Rguibi Cultural Centre hosts conferences, film screenings, artistic programmes, educational activities and events connected to Hassani culture and the heritage of Morocco’s southern provinces.

Es-Semara’s first cinema auditorium opened at the centre in March 2024 through the national neighbourhood cinema programme, complementing its existing cultural and community functions.

Continued activity in 2026

The venue remained active in 2026, including a conference on traditional games and cultural transmission. It also hosted the installation of the provincial cultural director in April 2026, reflecting its central institutional role.

Practical information

The centre is also known as the Es-Semara House of Culture. Programmes and opening arrangements vary, so visitors should check announcements from the provincial cultural authorities before travelling.
