Festival international de la bande dessinée d'Alger

FIBDA is Algeria’s major comics and graphic-culture event, bringing together authors, publishers, illustrators, manga, cosplay, gaming, workshops and competitions.

Founded in Algiers in 2008, the Festival international de la bande dessinée d'Alger (FIBDA) has become a major African and Mediterranean gathering devoted to comics and graphic storytelling.

A festival open to broad audiences

FIBDA brings together authors, illustrators, scriptwriters, publishers, booksellers and schools, while attracting younger audiences through manga, cosplay, animation and gaming. Editions combine exhibitions, signings, talks, workshops, national and international competitions and sales areas.

2026 edition

The 18th edition was announced for 18–22 June 2026 with a focus on the graphic novel. Its competitions provide an important entry point for emerging Algerian and international creators.
