The Aurillac International Street Theatre Festival is a European reference for art in public space. Since 1986, the city has become a vast performance territory where the official programme and hundreds of visiting companies coexist.
The street as an artistic space
Theatre, dance, circus, installation, processions, music and performance transform streets, courtyards and buildings. The works explore direct relationships with residents and the political or poetic uses of the city.
A distinctive professional ecosystem
The festival attracts companies, programmers, public authorities and specialist networks. Alongside the official programme, visiting companies make Aurillac an important place for discovery and touring.
2026 edition
The 39th edition runs from 19 to 22 August 2026 and follows Champ libre, a travelling programme across the Cantal region.
