The Festival international du théâtre de Béjaïa is one of Algeria’s main performing-arts gatherings. It connects Algerian creation with companies and writing from Africa, the Arab world and other international scenes.
The Regional Theatre at its centre
The festival is mainly based at the Béjaïa Regional Theatre Abdelmalek-Bouguermouh. It combines performances, artist encounters, workshops, conferences and activities for emerging practitioners and local audiences.
Recent and upcoming editions
The 14th edition opened in October 2025 with a celebration of the African continent. A 15th edition is announced for 15–23 October 2026, subject to any later updates from the organisers.
