The Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing is organised by the Cairo Opera House at Al-Mahka Theatre inside the Saladin Citadel. It connects popular concerts, monumental heritage and summer evenings in one of Cairo’s most recognisable settings.
A heritage stage
The Citadel gives the festival a distinctive identity. A major historic monument becomes an accessible performance space where Cairo residents, visitors and artists meet.
A broad musical programme
Programming usually combines Arabic song, Cairo Opera ensembles, Sufi music, pop, rock, fusion, symphonic music and international guests, often with several concerts on the same evening.
