Days of Poetry and Wine brings poets, translators, publishers and readers from Slovenia and abroad to Ptuj every summer. The festival combines readings, literary conversations, music and encounters with local wine traditions.
Poetry throughout the city
Events take place in Ptuj’s courtyards, libraries, squares and heritage spaces, with additional programmes in other Slovenian towns. This travelling dimension connects literature with different territories.
Translation and international dialogue
The programme foregrounds the movement of languages and the work of translators. Open letters, residencies, workshops, children’s readings and author conversations approach poetry as a way of reflecting on contemporary societies.
2026 edition
The 2026 festival runs from 23 to 26 August, combining literary experience, conviviality, heritage and wine culture.
