Festival international du Sahara de Douz is one of southern Tunisia’s major heritage events. It brings residents, artists, riders, poets and visitors together around desert cultures and nomadic traditions.
A popular gathering
The programme usually includes fantasia, camel racing, equestrian games, folklore, poetry, music, crafts and meetings on Saharan heritage. International delegations may also present their own desert traditions.

The 57th edition took place from 25 to 28 December 2025 across Douz, confirming the festival’s cultural and economic importance for the Kebili region.
