Held in Homs from 24 to 28 March 2026, the Drawing, Arabic Calligraphy and Visual Arts Week brought together exhibitions, lectures and professional exchange around lettering, painting and digital tools.
More than eighty works
The opening exhibitions included over eighty works by around forty artists and calligraphers. Visitors encountered several calligraphic schools, including Ruq‘ah, Diwani, Kufic and Thuluth, alongside oil painting, drawing and abstract composition.
Heritage and digital creation
The programme did not treat calligraphy as a frozen tradition. Lectures explored Islamic art, digital drawing and their relationship with contemporary visual practice. Established artists shared the programme with amateurs and young creators.
A platform for transmission
The Homs Directorate of Culture used the week to provide exhibition and learning opportunities for local talent. Dates and participation calls for future editions remain to be confirmed.
