The Zagora International Film Festival has developed a distinctive identity at the crossroads of cinema, southern landscapes and Saharan and Amazigh heritage.
A selection open to different cinemas
Screenings, competitions and panoramas feature Moroccan and international films. The festival circulates works beyond the largest cities and creates direct encounters between artistic teams and audiences.
Training and professional exchange
Workshops, masterclasses, conferences and sessions on writing, directing, production and distribution strengthen the festival’s educational dimension. Particular attention is given to young talent and cultural actors from the region.
The territory as a cinematic space
Zagora, Amezrou, Tamegroute and the surrounding landscapes give the festival a geography connected to memory, earthen architecture, hospitality and the history of filmmaking in southern Morocco.
Culture, heritage and tourism
By combining films, music, gastronomy, crafts and desert discovery, the festival contributes to Zagora’s cultural profile. Programmes and venues change between editions and should be confirmed with the organisers.
