The Festival international du film Imedghassen connects contemporary filmmaking with the cultural identity of the Aurès. Its name refers to the Numidian mausoleum of Imedghassen, a major ancient monument in the Batna region.
A short-film festival
The event welcomes Algerian and international films and builds a wider programme of discussions, masterclasses, workshops, jury meetings, heritage visits and award ceremonies around the screenings.
2026 edition
The 6th edition took place from 5 to 11 May 2026. The official website describes the festival as a platform for filmmakers from around the world to present work, exchange ideas and celebrate cinema.
