IndieLisboa explores independent cinema beyond conventional categories. It presents new Portuguese and international work, supports first films and connects contemporary creation with film history.
Other ways of making cinema
Competitions, premieres, retrospectives and thematic programmes introduce films with limited commercial exposure. Features and shorts, fiction, documentary, animation and hybrid forms share the programme.
Audiences and professionals
IndieJúnior addresses children and families, while IndieMusic explores the relationship between sound and image. Meetings, workshops and industry activities support emerging filmmakers and producers.
2026 edition
The 23rd edition takes place from 30 April to 10 May 2026 in several Lisbon venues.
