The Days of National Costumes and Clothing Heritage are Slovenia’s largest ethnological festival. For three days, Kamnik hosts regional dress, craftsmanship, music, dance and practices linked to the transmission of traditional skills.

Clothing as memory

Materials, cuts, embroidery and accessories reveal territories, professions, exchanges and social change. Craft demonstrations and markets introduce the people who keep these techniques alive.

A collective celebration

Concerts, dances, workshops, food and presentations by Slovenian and international groups lead to the major parade through Kamnik. The event links heritage research with popular practice and public celebration.

2026 edition

The 53rd edition takes place from 11 to 13 September 2026. Its central moment is the Sunday procession, accompanied by a programme devoted to the clothing heritage of Upper Carniola.
