Founded in 1977, the Khouribga International African Film Festival is one of the continent’s longest-running events devoted to African cinema and the diversity of its languages, aesthetics and histories.
Artistic identity and public role
Competitions, panoramas, tributes and critical encounters highlight films with limited commercial distribution. Filmmakers, actors, producers, critics and researchers discuss creation, circulation and the preservation of African film memory.
Transmission and current edition
Its long-term location in an industrial city is a strong act of cultural decentralisation. The latest edition took place from 30 May to 6 June 2026, and the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre already lists the next edition for 2027.
