Kino Otok — Isola Cinema is an international independent film festival based in Izola on the Slovenian coast. Its maritime atmosphere, indoor and open-air screenings and close contact between artists and audiences create a distinctive Adriatic festival experience.
Cinema of discovery
The festival favours films with new forms and personal perspectives. Features, shorts, documentaries, experimental work and programmes for younger audiences meet within an international selection.
From the island to the wider territory
Izola remains the festival’s centre, while screenings and activities also travel to other Slovenian cities. Workshops, discussions, professional programmes and film-education actions strengthen its national network.
2026 edition
The 22nd edition takes place in Izola from 10 to 14 June 2026, with further screenings elsewhere in Slovenia.
