LIFFe, the Ljubljana International Film Festival, presents a wide-ranging panorama of world cinema every autumn. The programme combines films recognised at leading festivals, work by emerging filmmakers, premieres, retrospectives and conversations with guests.
Discovering contemporary cinema
Sections such as Perspectives, Avant-premieres, Kings and Queens, World Cinema Panorama and Europe in Short create a diverse view of international production. Special attention is given to young European filmmakers and films not yet widely distributed in Slovenia.
From Ljubljana to the rest of the country
Screenings take place at Cankarjev dom, Kinodvor, the Slovenian Cinematheque, Kino Šiška and other venues, with additional events in Maribor, Celje and Novo mesto.
2026 edition
The 37th edition runs from 11 to 22 November 2026, complemented by awards, discussions, workshops and film-education activities.
