Ljubljana Jazz Festival is one of Europe’s longest-running jazz events. It approaches jazz as a living form shaped by improvisation, sonic research and dialogue with experimental, African, electronic and contemporary music.
A history that keeps moving
Founded in the late 1950s, the festival has followed the transformation of jazz while maintaining a relationship with its major traditions. Its current programme favours distinctive projects, premieres, unusual collaborations and artists who expand the language of the genre.
Different stages and audiences
Concerts are mainly held at Cankarjev dom and other Ljubljana venues. Talks, installations and parallel activities provide context and encourage deeper listening.
2026 edition
The 67th edition runs from 1 to 4 July 2026, with preliminary events on 29 and 30 June.
