A major annual gathering of nomadic tribes from the Sahara and north-west Africa, inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It brings together equestrian traditions, Hassani poetry, music, crafts and community exchange.
The Tan-Tan Moussem continues a historic meeting space for nomadic communities. Camps, equestrian displays, camel activities, music, dance, poetry and crafts markets reveal the diversity of Saharan cultures.
Beyond celebration, it supports the transmission of knowledge, oral histories, pastoral practices and hospitality traditions. Its dates vary and should be confirmed each year with the organisers.
