Palestine International Book Fair

A major Palestinian book event bringing together publishers, authors, debates, signings, exhibitions, theatre and activities for children.

Entrance to the Palestine International Book Fair in 2023

The Palestine International Book Fair is one of the major cultural events organised by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture. It brings publishers, authors, institutions and audiences together around books, ideas and literary creation.

More than a publishing market

The fair combines stands, intellectual encounters, signings, debates, book launches and an artistic programme. Exhibitions, theatre and a children’s area extend the experience beyond book sales.

A history across cities

The first edition was held in Gaza in 1995. Later fairs moved among Gaza, Bethlehem and Ramallah before recent editions were hosted on the Palestinian National Library grounds in Surda.

Editorial status

The thirteenth edition is documented from 7 to 17 September 2023 with Palestinian, Arab and international publishers. The next edition remains subject to an official ministry announcement.
