Heritage and poetry activities at the 2026 Peace Festival in the Homs countryside

The Peace Festival took place from 17 to 20 July 2026 in Al-Mushrifa, in the eastern Homs countryside, under the theme “Culture and Shared Identity”. It combined civic dialogue, poetry, material heritage, crafts and local economic activity.

Culture and social cohesion

Discussion sessions addressed community dialogue as a tool for rebuilding trust and preventing conflict. Poetry evenings brought together classical, Nabati, free-verse and dialect traditions, while exhibitions highlighted the history and cultural memory of the area.

A locally rooted festival

The programme included displays connected with ancient Qatna, heritage objects and imagery, and a market for handmade, food and household products. The event therefore linked culture and memory with opportunities for small producers.

Documented edition

The documented 2026 edition was organised by Mars. Future dates, venues and participation conditions should be confirmed with the organisers.
