The Alizés Spring Music Festival brings classical music into the heart of Essaouira through an accessible format focused on transmission and encounters between established artists, young performers and audiences.
Classical music in the city
Created in the early 2000s under the impetus of the Essaouira Mogador Association, the festival presents recitals, chamber music and orchestral works across several venues. Dar Souiri occupies an important place in this cultural geography.
Demanding and open repertoires
The programme connects major works from the repertoire with Moroccan performers and international guests. It values both artistic excellence and close listening through varied formats.
Young talent and training
Morning sessions for young musicians, partnerships with the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and educational initiatives strengthen the festival’s training mission. The Alizés Conducting Academy extends this work with emerging conductors.
An accessible festival
Free access to a large share of the concerts supports wider participation in classical music. Dates are generally announced for spring and should be confirmed before travelling.
