The Rai Festival of the Oriental Region celebrates in Oujda a music shaped by movement, language and the imagination of eastern Morocco. It connects historic rai figures, popular song, Reggada, rap and newer urban scenes.
Oujda as rai territory
Proximity to Algeria, migration histories and musical exchange have formed a regional identity in which rai holds a central place. The festival recalls this history while showing the genre’s present diversity, from sentimental song to electronic and urban hybrids.
A platform across generations
Established performers, young singers and groups from the Oriental region share the same stage. This combination celebrates recognised careers, introduces emerging voices and brings regional musical heritage closer to younger audiences.
2026 edition
The 2026 edition runs from July 22 to 25 at Stade d’Honneur Square in Oujda. Four free evenings feature Zina Daoudia, Abdelaziz Stati, Douzi, Aymane Serhani, Jaylann, Draganov, SNITRA and several regional artists.
