The Salé International Women’s Film Festival gives particular visibility to women directors, stories centred on women and debates about their place in cinema and society.
An international platform in Salé
Founded in 2004 and organised by the Bouregreg Association, the festival combines feature films, documentaries, short films, professional meetings, tributes and activities for younger audiences.
Creation and public debate
Screenings are accompanied by conversations about representation, production, access to film professions and the diversity of viewpoints. The festival creates a space for films that may receive limited commercial exposure.
A cultural anchor for the city
By bringing filmmakers, performers, critics and audiences together in Salé, the event contributes to the city’s cultural life and places gender questions within a broader international film dialogue.
The 2026 edition
The nineteenth edition is announced for 28 September to 3 October 2026. The detailed programme should be confirmed before attending.
