Festival Early music Celje and Slovenian heritage sites 7–21 August 2026

Seviqc Festival

A festival of early music and historically informed performance held in castles, churches and heritage sites across Slovenia.

Image of Seviqc Festival

Seviqc is one of Slovenia’s leading festivals for early music. It welcomes ensembles and soloists specialising in historically informed performance and places their concerts in castles, churches and major heritage sites.

Music in historical context

The programme explores Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque repertoires through period instruments, source research and performance choices attentive to each era. Musical rigour is combined with the discovery of architecture and cultural history.

A travelling festival

Rather than remaining in one concert hall, Seviqc moves between Slovenian regions. This approach brings audiences to less familiar monuments and creates a dialogue between acoustics, place and repertoire.

2026 edition

The 2026 programme takes place from 7 to 21 August, with international artists performing in Celje, Soteska and partner heritage venues.
