The Zagora International Trans-Saharan Film Festival places cinema within the landscapes, memories and circulations of south-eastern Morocco, connecting film creation with Saharan and African narratives.
Artistic identity and public role
Selected films examine territories, identities, mobility, nomadic cultures and contemporary change. Screenings, tributes and debates bring filmmakers into direct contact with audiences outside Morocco’s main permanent distribution circuits.
Transmission and current edition
Workshops for young people strengthen the festival’s role in cultural decentralisation and skills development. The twentieth edition is scheduled from 6 to 11 December 2026.
