Zamane Festival connects musical creation, oasis memory and environmental engagement across several ksour of M’Hamid El Ghizlane.
A festival spread across the oases
Activities may take place in M’Hamid, Oulad Driss, Bounou and other villages in the valley. This movement connects the artistic programme with earthen architecture, palm groves and community spaces.
Desert music and contemporary creation
The festival welcomes Saharan repertoires, local traditions and contemporary artists. Concerts become meeting places between generations, territories and aesthetics.
Transmission and living heritage
Workshops, discussions and activities with residents highlight stories, musical practices, craft knowledge and nomadic memory. The event seeks to strengthen young people’s role in cultural continuity.
Culture and environmental preservation
Led by Joudour Sahara, the project connects culture with awareness of the oasis ecosystem’s fragility. Access, accommodation and transport packages should be checked with the organisers.
