About this event
The festival and its identity
From 15 to 23 October 2026, El Gouna Film Festival holds its ninth edition on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Founded in 2017, it brings together international films, Arab and African filmmakers, emerging talent, producers and screen-industry professionals. Guided by the motto « Cinema for Humanity », the festival highlights cinema's ability to connect people and amplify regional voices.
Films and industry exchange
Alongside screenings and competitions, the CineGouna Forum offers encounters, project development and professional exchange, supporting new talent and international collaboration. El Gouna lies on the Red Sea rather than the Mediterranean shore, but participates in the wider cultural ecosystem of Egypt and neighbouring countries.
