About this event
International documentary cinema in Florence
Florence hosts the 67th Festival dei Popoli from 31 October to 8 November 2026. Founded in 1959, it is one of the longest-running documentary film festivals in Europe, focusing on creative nonfiction, new approaches to storytelling and the relationship between cinema, social realities and other arts.
Films and exchange
Its international selection, competitions, retrospectives and encounters with filmmakers offer fresh perspectives on social change, memory and cultural questions. The festival creates a meeting place for audiences and documentary professionals. Screenings are held at several Florentine venues; the official programme provides screening times and accreditation details.
