“Jil Lioum – A Generation in Motion” brings together six Moroccan photographers — Mourad Fedouache, Rime Sabbar, Oussama Sbaa, Yassine Sellame, Youness Sefyaoui and Nizar Laajali — around a demanding question: how can a generation be portrayed without reducing it to stereotypes? Their images move between urban and rural environments, popular culture, football, family ties, individual aspirations and forms of solidarity shaping contemporary Moroccan youth.
Designed to travel through several cities, the exhibition works as a many-sided mirror. Each photographer develops a personal visual language, while the collective project creates a shifting portrait of a generation determined to produce its own representations. Initiated by the Tangier photography encounters “Face à la mer” with the French Institute of Morocco, and supported by the Yzza Slaoui Foundation and the Leila Alaoui Intercultural Centre, the Kenitra presentation opens a space for discussion about image, identity and transmission.
