About this event
Matera Film Festival 2026 — 7th Edition and Mediterranean Focus
The seventh Matera Film Festival takes place from 7 to 15 November 2026 in southern Italy, during Matera's year as Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue. Its international competitions cover features, documentaries and short films. A special Mediterranean Focus is organised with the Tetouan International Mediterranean Film Festival: three or four Moroccan films selected in Tetouan are to screen in Matera, accompanied by filmmakers and a Moroccan delegation scheduled for 7–11 November. This exchange highlights cinema's role in building links between Morocco and Italy.
