Three months of creation in Paris

TRAME is a residency organised by the Cité internationale des arts with support from France's Ministry of Culture. It brings ten French-speaking artists from around the world, including Morocco, to the Marais site in Paris from 3 March to 28 May 2027. The programme combines independent research with professional encounters and international artistic exchange.

Funding and facilities

Selected artists receive a furnished live-in studio and a €1,000 net monthly living allowance. A further €1,000 research and production contribution is available against eligible receipts. Return travel, visa fees when applicable and travel insurance are covered within the programme's limits and against receipts. The residency includes professional meetings and networking; shipping artworks or production equipment is not covered.

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from all nationalities, with no upper age limit. Disciplines range from visual and performing arts to music, literature, film, architecture, design and curatorial practice. Artists must demonstrate at least five years of professional practice, have previously developed creative projects, communicate and write effectively in French, and be available continuously for the full residency. Collective applications are possible, but support is awarded as one shared residency package.

Application documents

Apply through the online form linked on the official call page; a Google account is required. Prepare a CV of up to four pages, a portfolio of previous work of five to fifteen pages, and a project proposal of up to three pages, explaining the research process and why Paris and the Cité are important to the project.
