Zouheir Ait Benjeddi
Born in Salé on 10 March 1985, Zouheir Ait Benjeddi is a Moroccan actor, theatre director, acting coach and educator. His practice moves between proscenium theatre, street performance, site-specific work, productions for young audiences, cinema and television. Across these formats, he combines performance, actor direction, collective creation and cultural transmission.
Since the early 2010s, he has collaborated with numerous Moroccan companies and directors. His stage credits include Exercises in Tolerance, Don Juan, Naïda, Hiya Houa, Al Jarda, Sandouq Al Faraja and La Ferraille. He also joined the bilingual French–Darija production of Sarah Kane’s Crave, directed by Marion Lécrivain and presented in France.
His acting has been recognised twice at Morocco’s National Professional Theatre Festival in Tetouan: in 2015 for Naïda and in 2022 for his portrayal of Inspector Boualam in Commissioner Tahar and Inspector Boualam. His screen work includes the television series L’usine and the Emirati historical film Khorfakkan. He has also worked as an acting coach on the sitcom Koulna Maghariba and the television film Menk.
Alongside acting, Ait Benjeddi develops and leads his own productions, including Al Samsar, Chama, Inspector Sangris and Seven Men. He regularly facilitates improvisation, street-theatre, storytelling and forum-theatre workshops for children and young people across Morocco, linking artistic creation with cultural participation and professional transmission.
