A cultural landmark in Casablanca’s old medina
Buenaventura House of Culture occupies the former Spanish church of San Buenaventura in Casablanca’s old medina. Its conversion into a public cultural centre gave a new civic role to a building connected with the city’s cosmopolitan history.
Open to residents and visitors, the venue supports reading, exhibitions, encounters and cultural activities while contributing to the preservation and renewed use of the historic medina.
Heritage, reading and contemporary creation
The public library forms part of Morocco’s wider reading network. The centre can also welcome artistic, educational and community initiatives, bringing cultural activity closer to residents of Casablanca’s historic neighbourhoods.
