The Arles Photography Encounters are among the world’s leading photography festivals. Throughout the summer, monuments, former industrial spaces and museums host exhibitions that revisit visual history and introduce emerging scenes.
Photography as a way of reading the world
The programme combines monographs, archives, commissions, books, curatorial research and professional awards. It addresses identity, memory, territory, the living world and representation.
An international meeting point
Opening week brings together photographers, curators, publishers, galleries, institutions and students, while portfolio reviews and educational programmes extend the festival’s reach.
2026 edition
The 57th edition, “Worlds to Reread”, runs from 6 July to 4 October 2026 with a strong focus on Africa and the Mediterranean.
