From 24 to 28 October 2026, the Banjaluka International Animated Film Festival presents short films, competitions, showcases and encounters centred on contemporary animation.
A local history of animation
Launched in its current form in 2008, the festival continues a local animation history associated in part with the Banja Luka 71 event. It reconnects the city with animation-film networks and creates a meeting place for filmmakers, students, professionals and audiences.
Short film at the centre
The selection focuses on animated short film and brings traditional techniques, digital imagery, visual experimentation and stories for different audiences into dialogue. Screenings, discussions and related programmes explore both finished works and creative processes.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for 24–28 October. Details of selections, venues, screening times and professional activities are published progressively by the organisers.
