Doclisboa is an international festival dedicated to documentary cinema and non-fiction forms. It champions demanding work that examines reality, political narratives, archives, memory and contemporary change.
Documentary as cinema
The festival does not reduce documentary to information. Its competitions and parallel sections highlight films that work with direction, sound, editing and point of view while questioning the borders between documentary, essay and experimentation.
A creative ecosystem
Arché, Nebulae and professional activities support projects, co-production and international circulation. The abcDoc educational project develops mediation for children, young people and teachers.
2026 edition
The 24th edition runs from 15 to 25 October 2026 at Culturgest, Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema Ideal.
