Festival Comedy / Stand-up Rabat March

Aji T’hdm Festival

A Rabat comedy festival created around the duo Les Inqualifiables, bringing together stand-up, collective shows and Moroccan and African performers.

Aji T’hdm Festival

Aji T’hdm developed in Rabat as a gathering devoted to new Moroccan comedy scenes. Originally led by the duo Les Inqualifiables, the festival combines solo performances, collective galas and encounters between artists from different generations and backgrounds.

From a show to a festival format

The project grew out of performances by Amine Belghazi and Oubeid Allah Hlal. Across its editions, Aji T’hdm expanded by welcoming established Moroccan comedians, emerging performers and guests from other African countries. Documented programmes combine stand-up, comic duos and creations inspired by everyday life.

Comedy rooted in society

Invited artists address family life, relations between generations, social realities and ordinary situations through satire, observation and stage performance. The festival therefore provides a platform for varied comic writing in Moroccan Arabic and French.

Rabat and an African opening

The sixth edition, held in 2023 at the Mohammed V National Theatre as part of Rabat, African Capital of Culture, strengthened the festival’s connection with sub-Saharan comedy scenes. This direction places Aji T’hdm within a wider circulation of comic forms between Morocco and the African continent.
