The Malta Summer Carnival brings the floats, costumes and choreography of the national carnival into a coastal summer setting. The promenades of Buġibba and Marsaskala become open parade routes for residents, families and visitors.
Carnival beyond the traditional season
This summer edition allows carnival companies to present their floats and performances in a different atmosphere from the pre-Lenten event. Light, waterfront spaces and evening audiences transform the relationship between spectacle and public space.
The 2026 edition
The festival was scheduled for 21 to 23 August 2026 in collaboration with the local councils of Buġibba and Marsaskala. The programme includes float parades and choreographed performances along the seafront.
Access
The event is free, but times, routes and traffic restrictions should be checked on the official website.
