The Mediterrane Film Festival positions Malta as a meeting point for filmmaking, international production and Mediterranean narratives. Its programme combines competition titles, public screenings, outdoor cinema and a substantial professional strand.
Films, industry and shared stories
The festival brings together directors, producers, technicians, decision-makers and audiences. Screenings are accompanied by masterclasses, panels and workshops on writing, production design, locations, co-production and changing audiovisual formats.
A Grand Harbour geography
Events take place in Valletta and neighbouring harbour cities. This setting connects contemporary cinema with Malta’s architecture, heritage spaces and long history as an international filming location.
The 2026 edition
The festival ran from 21 to 28 June 2026 under the theme “Beyond Together”, with eight days of screenings, industry sessions and outdoor events.
