The National Rwais Art Festival celebrates the Amazigh poet-musicians who have carried, recorded and renewed a major part of the Souss region’s cultural memory.
Artistic identity and public role
A raïs is simultaneously performer, poet, composer and storyteller. Songs address love, migration, rural life and social change. Concerts, discussions, screenings and heritage exhibitions reveal the art’s musical, literary and historical depth.
Transmission and current edition
A competition for young Rwais gives the festival a practical role in discovery and transmission. The 14th edition, held from 24 to 26 July 2026, combined performances, a youth competition, professional encounters and a heritage exhibition.
