Vieilles Charrues Festival

A major volunteer-led Breton music festival combining pop, rock, rap, electronic music, chanson and international artists in Carhaix.

Vieilles Charrues is one of France’s largest contemporary music festivals. Held in Carhaix-Plouguer, in central Brittany, it combines popular programming, musical diversity and a powerful community-based model.

A festival rooted in its territory

Thousands of volunteers and local organisations help produce the event. This collective structure gives the festival its friendly identity and strong economic and cultural relationship with Brittany.

A broad musical spectrum

Pop, rock, rap, chanson, electronic music, reggae and global sounds share several stages. International headliners appear alongside French-speaking artists, discoveries and Breton projects.

2026 edition

The 34th edition ran from 16 to 19 July 2026, with artists including Katy Perry, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Aya Nakamura, Orelsan and Interpol.
