Documenting conflict and passing stories on

WARM grew out of an international network of reporters, artists and researchers committed to documenting wars and their consequences. In Sarajevo, whose recent history gives these questions particular resonance, the festival creates a space for transmission, debate and critical attention.

Images, films, books and testimony

The programme combines photography exhibitions, screenings, book presentations, conferences, testimonies and professional encounters. The WARM Academy extends the festival through training and exchange for a new generation of journalists and creators.

2026 dates

The 2026 edition takes place from 6 to 12 July. Several activities are open to the public free of charge, although capacity and registration arrangements may vary by venue.

Why this festival matters

  • A demanding cultural perspective on contemporary conflict.
