Opened in 2014, the A. G. Leventis Gallery brings together three major collections devoted to European art, modern Greek painting and Cypriot creativity. The museum combines permanent displays with temporary exhibitions, research, interpretation and activities for families and schools.
Three complementary collections
The Paris Collection includes European works from the sixteenth to the twentieth century. The Greek Collection follows major developments in Greek painting during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, while the Cyprus Collection highlights artists connected with the island’s modern history. Together, they reveal artistic exchanges between Europe, Greece and Cyprus.
Exhibitions and learning
The gallery develops temporary exhibitions around its collections, art history and contemporary practice. Guided visits, lectures, workshops, publications and educational activities extend the experience of the works and welcome both individual visitors and school groups.
