The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro is the national institution dedicated to modern and contemporary artistic practice. Its Podgorica programme extends across the Petrović Palace, Perjanički Dom and other spaces in Kruševac Park.
Collections and programme
Collections cover Montenegrin and international art since the 1950s. A particularly distinctive group developed through cultural exchange with Non-Aligned countries and includes works from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Exhibitions, research, publishing and public projects continually reinterpret these holdings.
Cultural role
The museum places Montenegro’s artistic history within wider international circulation. It shows how cultural diplomacy, international solidarity and contemporary creation shaped a collection that differs from strictly national museum narratives.
