The third edition of Dakhla Project takes place in Dakhla from November 19 to 21, 2026. The platform is dedicated to supporting feature-length fiction and documentary projects in development, with a particular focus on emerging filmmakers.
The 2026 edition marks a new stage for the initiative. After developing within the Dakhla International Film Festival, Dakhla Project is moving towards a more autonomous format while maintaining close ties with the festival. Filmmaker Rachid Zaki has been entrusted with the platform’s direction.
Dakhla Project is designed as a professional development space focused on writing, artistic development and preparing projects for the film market. Its model combines mentorship, exchanges with Moroccan and international film professionals, masterclasses, coaching and pitch preparation.
The platform aims to help emerging directors and producers strengthen their projects, clarify their artistic vision, consolidate production feasibility and expand their professional networks. It is part of a wider Moroccan, African and Middle Eastern ecosystem supporting new voices in cinema.
Previous editions brought together Moroccan, African and Middle Eastern projects and helped establish Dakhla Project as a meeting point between creation, training, production and the international circulation of film projects.
