About this event
Taza's International Ciné Café Festival prepares its eleventh edition
The International Ciné Café Festival in Taza is preparing its eleventh edition in 2026. Organised by Association Festival Ciné Café Taza, the event has contributed to film culture and opportunities for dialogue between filmmakers, professionals and audiences in Taza, part of Morocco’s Fez–Meknes region. The festival’s identity has developed around films, discussion and cultural exchange.
Official funding for the 2026 festival
According to the Moroccan government's report on the national film centre’s July 2026 funding decisions, MAD 50,000 has been awarded to Association Festival Ciné Café Taza for the upcoming festival. The decision confirms institutional backing for the planned edition, but does not itself establish a screening programme or ticket availability.
17–20 December: provisional, not final, dates
A national film-festival calendar lists 17 to 20 December 2026 for the eleventh edition. These dates are provisional and have not been independently confirmed by the festival organisers. Specific venues, screening times, competition entries, guests and ticketing arrangements should therefore not be treated as announced. Visitors should refer to the organising association for the final schedule.
Ciné Café: films as a starting point for discussion
Earlier editions offer a sense of the festival’s background. For example, the 2017 edition included Moroccan and African short films, meetings with cinema professionals and cultural activities for young audiences. These are historical examples of the festival’s character and are not a confirmed programme for 2026. No definitive film selection, jury or workshop programme for the eleventh edition has yet been verified.
