About this event
In Le Rôti, Amanda Sthers turns a dinner among friends into a comic battleground over identity, prejudice and contemporary contradictions. Jérôme and Mélanie invite Julie and Mehdi for what appears to be an ordinary evening. The atmosphere changes when Mehdi declines the pork roast for religious reasons. Polite conversation begins to fracture, exposing judgement, awkwardness and vulnerability.
Directed by Benjamin Elharrar and performed by Samy Berry, Vanessa Fery, Valentin Giard and Audrey David, the play uses the pace of comedy to explore coexistence without becoming a moral lecture. Its rapid dialogue constantly shifts the audience’s position, allowing each spectator to recognise a familiar contradiction in the characters. Two Moroccan performances are scheduled, first in Casablanca and then in Marrakech.
