About this event
Sharing books and learning to speak confidently
Al Amana school and the Institut français of Tangier begin a three-stage reading competition designed to promote literary curiosity and oral communication. Pupils discuss stories, interpret texts and practise presenting ideas to an audience. This first session opens a programme that continues with a November semi-final and a December final.
Six literary works
The reading list includes Alphonse Daudet’s Lettres de mon moulin, Guy de Maupassant’s fantastic tales, Marcel Pagnol’s La Gloire de mon père, Daniel Pennac’s L’Œil du loup, Jean-Claude Mourlevat’s La Rivière à l’envers and Michel Tournier’s Vendredi ou la Vie sauvage. Awards will recognise the jury's choice, audience choice and best reader.
