About this event
The 19th Tan-Tan Moussem has been rescheduled to October 30–November 3, 2026 under the theme “The Tan-Tan Moussem: Human Heritage and a Bridge for Cultural Exchange”. Fondation Almouggar officially announced the new dates after the event was postponed from early October.
The five-day programme will highlight Saharan and Hassani heritage through camel races, Tbourida, camel-rider parades, tribal gatherings, traditional games, crafts, Hassani traditions, concerts and a major parade. Festivities open on October 30 with the traditional religious ceremony at the Zaouia of Cheikh Mohammed Laghdaf Ma El Ainin and close on November 3 with an evening devoted to poetry.
Inscribed since 2008 on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Moussem remains a major gathering for the transmission of nomadic and Saharan cultures.
